TH4 (Steel 1-1/2")

TH4 (Steel 1-1/2")
Speaker cabinet Top Hats are used in two applications.

A) They are mounted to the bottom of a cabinet so it can be put on a speaker stand or mounting pole.

B) They are mounted to the top of a sub woofer cabinet so that a mounting pole can be put in it for supporting a speaker cabinet thereby eniminating the need for a speaker stand.

Transform your existing speaker cabinets for use with tripod speaker stands or speaker poles.
Cut or drill a hole in your speaker cabinet; place the tubular section into the cabinet and screw the base of the T-Hat to the cabinet.
Your cabinet is now ready for any set up; floor, pole mount or tripod stand.

Dimensions:

Internal Socket Diameter: 1-1/2" (38mm)
External Socket Diameter: 1-5/8"
Depth: 2-5/8"
Base Diameter: 4-5/8"
Mounting hole required: 1-3/4"

NOTE: The center of a cabinet is rarely the best balance point for the T-Hat.
Here is a simple tehnique for mounting the T-Hat at a good balance point on a cabinet:
1) Lay a broom handle, pipe or dowel on the floor.
2) Set the cabinet bottom on the broom handle about mid way from front to back so that the handle
is running left to right beneath the cabinet. (Parallel with the baffle board.)
3) Measure the distance from the front of the cabinet to the broom handle
on both sides making sure you have the cabinet setting squarely on the broom handle.
4) Balance the cabinet level on the broom handle and note if it wants to tip forward or backward when you let go of it.
5) Move the broom handle forward or backward until you locate the point where the cabinet shows no tendency to tip either forward or backward but seems to be evenly divided on the way it tips when released from a level position.
6) Once again, measure the distance from the front of the cabinet to the broom handle on both sides making sure you have the cabinet setting squarely on the broom handle.
7) That measurement is the distance from the front of the cabinet that the center of the T-Hat should be mounted into the cabinet. (Typically it is closer to the front side of the cabinet due to the weight of the speakers.)
